I need a Room Mate, can you help me find one?
Check out our FREE Find-A-Roomate service.

When can we move in?  Your move in date is June 1st. It is sometimes possible to move in a day or two early but that is rare. We have to clean the apartments, shampoo the carpets and make any repairs necessary.

When will we get are deposits back? Deposits are returned in June. We have to walk through each apartment to assess cleanliness and determine whether there is any damage. As soon as any damages have been determined we fill out a deposit return form and return it to you in a stamped and self addressed envelope you provide.

Can we reserve an apartment for next year?    It is not possible to reserve apartments. We allow any tenants that have fulfilled the terms of their lease have first right of refusal on their current apartment. If you as a current tenant want to rent one of our other apartments that have become available and you were good tenants we are very willing to give you the chance to rent one of our other apartments.
Are we allowed to have pets in the apartments?  We do not allow pets in our apartments. Fish are acceptable, as well as any other creature that is not removed from its tank such as a turtle. We do have one apartment where we would allow the tenants to have cats. 309 E. 5th St.

When do you begin showing apartments for the coming school year?   We usually wait until the end of October, but as demand increases we may begin showing apartments in the middle of October. That gives the current tenants only a few months to decide if they are interested in releasing their apartment.

If we want a sub leaser, what do we do?   If you have roommates sub leasers must be approved of by all of the tenants of the apartment. The sub leaser must also be approved by the landlord. We have forms in the office that you may request. This will offer some protection to the individual leaving the lease.

Do you allow tenants to find sub leasers for the summer months?  Yes, the same conditions apply as to the previous question.

How do we pick up our keys?  Letters will be sent to each future tenant with instructions on move in times and key pick up. Every person on the lease will have had to pay first and last month's rent upon move in or keys will not be distributed to any of the tenants.

Is it possible to rent any of the apartments for 6 months instead of 12 months?  Sometimes we have 6 month leases in our one bedroom apartments to help students that are graduating from college. If we allowed students to sign a nine month lease instead of a twelve month lease we would then charge more per month to make up for the months that the apartment would sit vacant. Your rent pays utilities, mortgages taxes and insurance.

Are we allowed to have extra refrigerators or wall a/c units in our apartments?  If the electricity bill is paid by the tenants then with the landlord's permission you are usually allowed to have other electrical appliances in the apartments. If the landlord pays the electric bill that the tenants are not allowed to have any other electrical appliances.
